Cosmetic Laser Treatments on Skin of Color
Room: 511 ~ 1:00PM - 2:15PM (Saturday, February 21, 2009)
Within five (5) years “people of color” (Fitzpatrick Skin Type’s IV – VI) will represent over 35% of Americans and over 55% of the world’s population. Based on advancements of laser technology over the last 10 years, Cosmetic Physicians can now offer a variety of safe and effective lasers treatments to all patients.

Hair removal, complexion blending (removing unwanted pigmented macules & patches), skin rejuvenation and skin tightening laser procedures can now be safely performed on patients irrespective of skin type, color or ethnicity. In order to safely perform these treatments laser practitioners needs to combine the appropriate laser with experience and expertise in performing these procedures on skin of color.

* Attendees of this session are eligible to receive 1 CME credit.

Laser Hair Removal
Room: 511 ~ 3:30PM - 4:30PM (Saturday, February 21, 2009)
Laser hair removal is one of the most effective, safe and consistent treatment that we offer and in most cosmetic practices it is the top revenue generator. We are finally at a point where the treatment is truly “color blind” where we can safely and effectively treat all patients regardless of skin color or ethnicity. One size “one laser” does not fit all, so to be successful practitioners need to fully understand which wavelengths and parameters are most effective and safe for different skin and hair types.

* Attendees of this session are eligible to receive 1 CME credit.

Note: This session, originally scheduled from 1:00 pm - 2:00 pm on 2/22, has been moved to 3:30 pm - 4:30 pm on 2/21.
